Supported Riders

Meet our team of supported riders and their Simple System fed horses. Competing in a wide range of disciplines from dressage and showjumping to eventing and carriage driving, our supported riders have achieved excellent results on a Simple System diet. Read more about each one and what they feed below.

The Dinky Ponies

It was when working as a freelance groom for top rider Sir Mark Todd, that Sarah's Dinky journey began - she had spotted two minature Shetland ponies in a neighbouring field, found out who they belonged to and started to help with their care. Sarah grew to know and love the ponies and their owner allowed her to take them on.

A few months later Sarah was offered two more ponies, and before long she had 7! Sarah knew they were all individually very special and she wanted to share them with others - in 2022 Dinky Ponies was born!

RLD Dressage

Rebecca was introduced to Simple System feeds by a well regarded, German based, independent nutritionist who she turned to for help when one of her horses, Welsh Cob - Mr Finn (pictured), was struggling badly with the muscle disease, Equine Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy - more commonly known as PSSM.

Since adjusting his diet Finn, is a much happier, healthier horse. He is fed a simple diet of Blue Bag Grass Pellets, Timothy Chop and Total Eclipse. He also has HayCare alongside his hay - which he thoroughly enjoys.

Emily Watts: Dressage and Coaching

Emily Watts is a self-proclaimed ‘‘horse obsessed coach and rider’’ who has been feeding her horses a Simple System diet for over 15 years! She competes at British Dressage to Grand Prix level, is a BCDD Level 3 coach and a UKCC level 2 British Showjumping coach.

Emily has 4 horses; 19 year old Razzy, 9 year old Rodney, less traditional dressage ‘horse’ - 14hh Welsh Pony - Loxely, and recent addition, 4 year old Frank (pictured).

Emily feeds a combination of a pellet (Sainfoin Pellets and Lucie Nuts), chop (Perform & Shine) and balancer (Veteran Balance +) to each of her horses in differing amounts dependent on size, condition and workload.

Heald Town Highland Pony Stud

Heald Town were introduced to Simple System back in 2014 when owner, Carolyn, contacted the Feed Line about her elderly Shetland pony who was prone to colic. ‘‘Lucie Nuts were recommended and the results were exceptional. The pony, Juniper, improved in her overall condition, her coat shone and she no longer suffered bouts of colic.’’

Following Juniper’s success the whole herd was switched to a complete Simple System diet.

Georgie Wood Eventing & Showjumping

"The knowledge, research and expertise behind Simple System Feeds is incredible and I feel very lucky to have found a feed company that I trust implicitly to give my horses the right nutrition for their needs in the most natural way.

Not only is this proved in the consistency of their results and performances but also in the way they look with gleaming coats, super hoof quality and a happy outlook on life. The feedline goes above and beyond and if I ever have a question I know that one of the team will be able to give me great advice to ensure my horses stay happy and healthy."
